Erin Salzmann was born and raised in Palm Springs. At the age of 3, she started ballet at CK Dance under the direction of Cynthia Kaye. Erin danced with CK Dance training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary for 15 years, with 13 of those years on the competitive team. Erin has performed lead roles in ballets such as the Nutcracker, Coppelia, Les Sylphides, and Firebird.
Beginning at the age of 13, Erin attended summer and winter intensives with American Ballet Theater, California Ballet, and Pacifica Ballet; studying from teachers like Charles Maple, Lorin Johnson, Amy Rose, and Collen O’Callaghan. Erin also got the opportunity to go to YAGP finals and dance at Alvin Ailey and perform at Lincoln Center with Ethan Stiefel and Desmond Richardson.
She went on to study dance at Santa Barbara City College under the direction of Tracy Kofford. There she expanded her training in modern dance. Later, Erin transferred to The University of Alabama as a dance major studying under the direction of Cornelius Carter, Lawrence Jackson, Sarah Barry, and Qianping Guo; all very respected in their field dancing for companies such as Cleo Parker Robinson, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and choreographing around the world. At University of Alabama, she performed in shows such as ARDT (the repertory company) as well as Dance Alabama!, which included student lead choreographed pieces. Erin was also on the school’s hip hop team, Rip Tide, and performed at Homecoming and the annual NPHC Step Show.
Erin has recently relocated to the desert and hopes to dance commercially, expand her knowledge, and help others who want to pursue their dance dreams
