Joshua King

Joshua King was born and raised in Palm Springs where he began his formal training with Cynthia Kaye. He then continued his education at California State University, Long Beach as a Dance Major and performed work by Lorin Johnson, Andrew Vaca and Keith Johnson.
In 2008,
Joshua was awarded the "50th Anniversary Fellowship" to The Ailey
School by Denise Jefferson. While at The Ailey School, he was a two year
member of the Ailey Student Performance Group under the direction of
Tina Bush and worked with choreographers such as Camille A Brown, Kevin
Whynn, Sidra Bell, Christopher L Huggins, Abdur R Jackson, and most
recently, Robert Battle. Joshua
has performed at Summer Stage NYC with Vernard Gilmore, Nike, The
Federal Reserve Bank, The Emergency Fund for Student Dancers Annual
Gala, The Bushwick Arts Festival with Antonia Urzua and has also taught
and performed at numerous businesses and schools on behalf of the Ailey
School's Arts in Education program.
Joshua is currently a soloist with DeMa Dance Company in Brooklyn, New York. He has been featured as a Guest Artist with Keith Johnson Dancers, San Gorgonio Ballet, CK Dance. Joshua is in the process of founding his own performance and teaching group, JoshKingDanceHype.
