Our Team

Studio Owner & Artistic Director

Cynthia Kaye

Cynthia Kaye started ballet at the age of five and has been dancing, directing, and choreographing ever since.  Her higher education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of South Florida, and a Master of Arts in Dance Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Miss Cynthia danced professionally with the Atlanta Ballet-Balanchine Technique, Carl Ratcliff Dance Theatre-Horton Technique, and toured Mexico as the lead dancer and co-choreographer of "Magic on Parade". She has taught dance at College of the Desert, University of Arkansas, University of Louisiana, and numerous dance studios.  She is also trained in the Royal Academy of Dance's children's dance syllabus.

She has received numerous national and local awards for her work and dedication including recognition from the National Association of  Regional Ballet and the Desert Theatre League.  Most recent awards include "Best Choreography" and "Best Ballet Production".

Competition Director & Instructor

Josh King

Josh King was born and raised in Palm Springs, where he began his formal training with Cynthia Kaye. With Cynthia’s guidance, he attended California State University, Long Beach as a Dance Major before competing in the NYC Finals of Youth America Grand Prix. At YAGP, he was awarded a fellowship to the school at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City. Most recently, he was a company member with Anaheim Ballet and Backhausdance.

Josh has had the pleasure of traveling across the United States and internationally to perform, educate, and adjudicate. He has been fortunate enough to be on faculty at Orange County School of the Arts- Commercial and Classical Conservatories, South Coast Conservatory, and guest teach at numerous summer intensives throughout southern California, as well as with the McCallum Theatre Institute.

Through dance education, Josh aims to empower young women, fostering their confidence and positive impact beyond the studio.

Competition Coach & Instructor

Araceli Flores

Araceli Flores was born and raised in Palm Springs where she began her training with Cynthia Kaye at the age of three. She was trained in ballet, hip hop, jazz, and contemporary, then continued to dance competitively from the age of eight.

She has worked with and taken classes from numerous choreographers such as Martha Nichols, Ashley Costa, Jason Parsons, Fransico Gella, Val Chmerkovskiy, and has won scholarships from Break the Floor, WCE, Backhausdance, and the Joffrey Ballet School.

She is continuing her education at College of the Desert and is sharing her passion of dance with the young students in the Coachella Valley.

Instructor

Alexandra Flores

Alexandra Flores started dancing at the age of 3 and began competitive dance at the age of 7. She has had much of her training at CK Dance with Cynthia Kaye, Josh King, and Becky Cota. Alexandra has studied numerous styles of dance, such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop, Contemporary, and Lyrical. She has been awarded scholarships to Backhausdance and Jump summer intensives. Alexandra has also had the opportunity to train with Brittany Markle, Mark Meismer, Martha Nichols, Benji Schwimmer, Krista Miller, Val Chmerkovskiy, Chihiro Sano, and many more.

She is a Palm Springs High School Dance Team alumni and plans on continuing her dance education at College of the Desert.
